HB0609 for “Free & Equal” Elections Debated in House Subcommittee

As you probably know, HB0609 which seeks to restore Tennessee to “Free & Equal” elections was debated today in the House Elections and Campaign Finance Subcommittee today.

(6:25​) Rep Shaw’s remarks on why he opposes the bill

(11:08​) The failure of a bill, in spite of a 4 (Yay) – 3 (Nay) voice vote in subcommittee.

We believe this bill would’ve actually passed subcommittee today if the votes were adequately counted.

As such, we’ll be working to appeal this decision within 48hrs.
